Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Theme Party
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star....... Since Christmas is coming closer, this theme is only more appropriate and it happens to be one of my favourite themes for a party lately. I especially love it for baby showers or first (or second :)) birthdays, but hey, with the upcoming holiday season, stars can be great for many occasions, right? So here are some of my favourite ideas for a great Twinkle Twinkle Little Star theme party!
Let´s start with decoration because obviously that´s my favourite part of party planning and the part I have most ideas for :). Before getting decoration goodies, think about the colour scheme for your Twinkle Twinkle Little Star theme party. Once you have the colours decided, you can get the decoration ideas mentioned here in the right colours so it all fits nicely together. Personally, I love a gold and pink combination for this theme, however, that might be because I am a girls’ mom. Anything is possible! For the decoration, just think everything star-shaped: party straws with little stars on them, star cupcake toppers and party picks, a twinkle twinkle little star main cake topper, star confetti, star balloons….. Well, I could go on but I guess you get the picture :).
For food basically the same applies, as for the decoration: think star-shaped! Some fun examples are pasta salad from star-shaped pasta, a big star cake or quesadillas that you cut in star-shapes. Also, star-shaped cookies or cupcakes decorated with little stars are perfect for the occasion, you can even match them with your decoration colour scheme to make it all look even better together.
Activities for kids
For a first birthday party, you probably don´t need many activities to entertain the kids. However, if you expect some young guests or use this theme at a party with older kids, here are some ideas for fun activities within the theme of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
- Decorate cookies
Those star-shaped cookies I mentioned above, you can actually use these for a fun activity of decorating them with young kids. They usually love this and it makes your food prepping also easier: just get empty cookies and get them decorated during the party instead of before!
- Decorate t-shirts / blankets / PJs
Get some white t-shirts (or blankets or jammies), cut star-shaped stamps from potatoes and get the paint out. Let the kids decorate their own clothes with the stamps, it might be a bit messy but fun guaranteed!
- Star award ceremony
This one is probably for a bit older kids, but let them decorate paper stars and do an award ceremony!
That´s it for now from my side, let´s get this Twinkle Twinkle Little Star party! What other ideas do you have for this theme? Would love to read about it in the comments section!
